Meet Our Consultants

CLEMENT CHIWAULA M.D, MPH

     FOUNDER AND CHIEF CONSULTANT

Dr Chiwaula is deeply passionate about improving health in Africa, he developed the passion for medicine and public health early in his life . Raised by a single parent who was rarely at home, made life a bit tough. He and his three siblings faced numerous challenges as he assumed the role of caretaker of the family. Access to healthcare was the main challenge. In our settings the burden of infectious diseases is alarmingly high, malaria being the frequent cause of hospital visits like many children who are the most affected population we had our fare share of the illnesses, we made two or more hospital visits every month. The burden of infections in sub Saharan Africa frequently puts an enormous strain on the resources for sustained operations, in doing so, creating a perpetual cycle of  lack or shortages of human resources, medicines and hospital equipment. It is during these vulnerable times that kindled the flame for him to pursue a career in medicine to care for his family and community. Dr Chiwaula went on to receive his medical degree (MBChB) from Kwame Nkrumah University (Ghana) in 2014.  Later he attended the University of New England in the United States for his Master of Public Health degree. Dr. Chiwaula has experience working in Malawi and the United States.
As a public health physician he is interested in improving quality of healthcare on the African continent by building hybrid programs that blend  clinical and public health strategies to reduce the burden of disease, and to build capacity, strengthening health systems, improving quality control and assurance practices, and monitoring and evaluation.
Dr. Chiwaula’s other interests are  improving child and maternal care, social justice, environmental and wildlife advocacy.  He also is an avid angler and in his free time he can be found fishing with his three boys at the nearest water.
